August Eser

In 1971, Weingut Eser joined the VDP association of renowned wineries. It has been continuously ranked among the top 100 wineries in Germany for 15 years. The 10th winery owner Désirée Eser is the first female winemaker in the family's history.

In the Rheingau region, especially in Oestrich, the reputation of Weingut Eser has been closely associated with fine wines since 1759. The winery is located in the center of the ancient town of Oestrich, in the core valley area of the Rheingau wine region. The name of the winery is named after the grandfather of the current winery owner. With an annual production of approximately 75,000 bottles of wine, 90% of which is Riesling and 10% is Pinot Noir. The Riesling wines produced by the winery are full of floral and fruity aromas, which are extremely charming.

The 10th winery owner, Désirée Eser Freifrau zu Knyphausen, is the first female winemaker in the family's history. Among the 38 VDP renowned wineries in the Rheingau region, only 3 are led by female winemakers. Upholding the family's traditional philosophy, with the help of her parents Renée and Joachim Eser and her husband Dodo zu Knyphausen, she endeavors to produce Riesling wines that are full of fruit aroma, have a light alcohol content, and are truly delightful.

The vineyards managed by the family span across 8 villages, from Rauenthal to Oestrich and then to Rudesheim. Weingut Eser even owns 17 single - vineyard plots. Such a wide geographical distribution is quite rare throughout Germany, creating extremely favorable conditions for Weingut Eser to produce high - quality Riesling wines that showcase the unique terroir.

Weingut Gunderloch

A founding winery of the VDP alliance. Since 2018, the winery owner Johannes Hasselbach has been the chairman of the VDP in the Rheinhessen region. In 2023, the winery was certified as an organic winery.

When it comes to the Rheinhessen region, the most famous area is undoubtedly the Roter Hang region in the eastern part of the region, which is close to the Rhine River. "Roter" means red in German. As the name implies, the soil in this area is entirely red slate, and the wines produced here have a unique style and are highly representative. Roter Hang was once literally translated as "Red Slope", but now Uncle Lei has given it a more resounding name: Red Cliff.

Weingut Gunderloch is located in the wine village of Nackenheim in the Rheinhessen region of Germany. It was founded in 1890 by banker Carl Gunderloch and has been continuously cultivated by six generations. All the wines of Weingut Gunderloch come from the Red Cliff. The vineyards, from north to south, are the Rothenberg (Red Mountain) vineyard, the Pettenthal vineyard, and the Hipping vineyard, all of which are grand cru vineyards in the core area of Roter Hang. The winery offers a full range of wines, from entry - level wines to top - tier GG wines and even noble rot sweet wines.

Among the grape varieties planted by Weingut Gunderloch, 80% is Riesling, and the others include Silvaner, Muller - Thurgau, Rulander, Kerner, and Scheurebe. In addition to having the best vineyards, they also put a lot of effort into manual farming and harvesting. The average yield per hectare is controlled at around 4,500 liters - which is extremely low in Germany. This is to concentrate the nutrients of the grapes and produce wines with a richer taste and aroma. Their requirements for the maturity of each grade are much higher than the legal standards.

Weingut Kerpen

A prestigious winery in the Sonnenenuhr vineyard, and the chairman of the Bernkasteler Ring alliance in the Mosel region.

The Riesling wines produced by this winery are regarded as the best value - for - money wines in the Sonnenenuhr vineyard in Germany.

Weingut Kerpen has been family - run for over 250 years through 8 generations. In the world - renowned Riesling - producing Mosel region, the winery owns several of the most famous vineyards: Wehlen Sonnenuhr, Domprobst, and Himmelreich. Every year, the Riesling grapes here can reach perfect ripeness, enabling the production of Riesling wines rich in intense fruit aroma and minerals.

Currently, Weingut Kerpen has 7 hectares of vineyards in the Sonnenenuhr vineyard, accounting for more than 17% of the total area of the Sonnenenuhr vineyard. This is a rather large area considering that the Sonnenenuhr vineyard is shared by 26 wineries. Some of the wines of the winery are sealed with distinctive crystal stoppers, which are both gorgeous and elegant, complementing the Riesling wines perfectly.

The current winery owner, Martin Kerpen, is the chairman of the Bernkasteler Ring, an elite winery organization in the Mosel region. This organization has strict regulations on yield per mu and quality classification, fully ensuring the outstanding characteristics of all its wines. The wines produced often amaze the world.

The Spätlese semi - sweet white Riesling from Weingut Kerpen's Sonnenenuhr vineyard and the hand - harvested semi - dry white Riesling have won the title of the Best German Wine in two consecutive sessions of WINE100. In total, they have won 8 gold and black awards, including the Best German Sweet White Wine, the Best German Dry / Semi - dry White Wine, the Best German White Wine, the Best German Wine, and the Best Wine of the Year.

Weingut Münzberg

Weingut Münzberg is a renowned VDP winery in the Pfalz region, celebrated for producing high - quality Pinot family wines. In line with the laws of nature, in 1989, Weingut Münzberg officially relocated from the center of the town of Godramstein to the foot of the southern slope of Münzberg. It took 11 years to complete the overall construction of the winery, and in the year of completion, it officially joined the VDP association of renowned German wineries.

The winery owns 17 hectares of vineyards. The soil is mainly calcareous soil, which is most suitable for the growth of Pinot family grapes. Through nature - friendly cultivation methods and strict yield restrictions, the winery produces only 120,000 bottles of wine each year. This is quite distinctive in the high - yielding Pfalz region. Among them, the production of Pinot Blanc and Pinot Noir accounts for 47% of the total output, and many wine styles bear the distinct mark of "Münzberg".

The winery owners, the couple Rainer and Gunter Keßler, have been constantly striving to produce the finest wines. In recent years, the Pinot Noir wines produced by Weingut Münzberg have become increasingly refined, and the skills in using barrels have advanced by leaps and bounds. The Pinot Noir GG from the grand cru vineyard MUNZBERGSCHLANGENPFIFF has achieved an ultimate velvety smoothness of tannins, closely integrated with the perfectly ripe grape fruit aroma, leaving a long - lasting aftertaste. It has become an outstanding representative of domestic German Pinot Noir.

Weingut Salwey

Weingut Salwey is one of the founding wineries of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter) elite winery alliance in Germany. It has a total of 25 hectares of vineyards, including four grand cru vineyards, all with volcanic rock terroir.

Weingut Salwey is located in the southwest of Germany, in the Kaiserstuhl area, the most core and famous part of the Baden wine region. In fact, the entire Kaiserstuhl area is a large dormant volcano, and the winery's vineyards are on the slopes of the volcanic belt.

Konrad, based on inheriting his father Wolf Dietrich Salwey's ambition to build the winery into a top - tier German Burgundian - variety winery mainly focusing on Pinot Noir, is renowned for trying new winemaking methods and can always distill the pure Weingut Salwey wine style. Besides Pinot Noir, his Pinot Gris is a benchmark not only for Weingut Salwey but also throughout Germany today.

Adhering to the concept of environmental protection, the winery adopts a fully manual harvesting method, picking the fully - ripe grapes in batches and carefully sorting and brewing them in the winery located on the mountain. The wines maximize the restoration of the inherent characteristics of the grape varieties and the terroir features of the planting area. The vast majority of the winery's wines are aged in oak barrels. The winery's winemaking philosophy is: as little as possible, as much as necessary.
